Merry Christmas!

It only seems tradition that one must annually watch the classic film, "A Christmas Story". Have a laugh, remember the good lines and eat your weight in food. It's the holidays, people, step back and relax. Enjoy!

OMG, OMG, OMG: SATC 2 - Trailer!

Like every other shoe-a-holic and fashion-a-holic lady in the world, I am dying to see the next "Sex and the City 2" movie. From what I gather, it's the cast regulars and a couple of guest stars such as Miley Cyrus, Penelope Cruz, and the ever-so-fabulous and iconic, Liza Minelli. What? True story! There are also some other actors who aren't so common here in the states. I know of this bloke, Raza Jaffrey who plays the character, Hari, from the british drama, "Mistresses", of which I am massively obsessed with. I honestly don't know who this guy is, Alexander Wraith but he looks pretty smoking and he's in the trailer. And let's just add in another brit, Max Ryan who seems to be all over the place and has a bit of a reckless nature to him.

So, without further ado, please enjoy the clip!

Lazy Sunday & Cable TV

It was a very chillaxing day for me much to the chagrin of a glycolic peel that went awry. I opted to stay indoors away from the sun and public eye and kicked it with some cable TV. I pretty much didn't change the channel and left it on USA all day long. Watching romantic comedy after romantic comedy, my love session began with "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days". With the lovely Kate Hudson and the magnificent looking Matthew McConaughey, this cute story keeps you entertained with the help of a supporting cast of girls (Kathryn Hahn and Annie Parisse) and guys (Adam Goldberg and "Reno 911's!" Thomas Lennon).

And then we traveled down south for the very cute (and one of my faves!), "Sweet Home Alabama". I'll admit, I pretty much like anything that Reese Witherspoon is in. And the same goes for Josh Lucas. I absolutely love the fabulous Nathan Lee Graham. Perhaps you remember him from "Zoolander" or "Hitch". And of course, how could we forget McDreamy's Patrick Dempsey. I just realized that there was a little mini reunion for McDreamy and another supporting cast member, Courtney Gains as they were both in the classic film of the 80's, "Can't Buy Me Love".

And I'm wrapping up the night and signing off with one of the cutest films, "Enchanted" with once again, the really-really-good-looking Patrick Dempsey and the incredibly talented, Amy Adams. I could watch this film over and over - it's funny for all ages which makes it even better. Susan Sarandon plays an evil witch and James Marsden plays the dashing Prince Charming. I've even become obsessed with the soundtrack!

Long live lazy Sundays...!

Sad News: Actress Brittany Murphy Dies

It was announced by TMZ this morning that actress Brittany Murphy died this morning due to cardiac arrest. She was only 32 years old. So sad as it makes you realize how precious and short life is. We will always remember her as the lovable Tai in "Clueless", Daisy in "Girl, Interruped", and the voice of Luanne Platter that has graced the show, "King of the Hill", for 12 years.

Another Fave Holiday Flick

Well, it will never take the place of "Love Actually", but I do really enjoy this amazingly casted film, "The Family Stone". I mean, where to begin? From Woody Allen's muse, Diane Keaton to "Coach's" Craig T. Nelson to SJP and Dermot Mulroney. Oh hell, the list goes on, allow me - Rachel McAdams, Luke Wilson, Claire Danes, Brian J. White, Tyrone Giordano, and "New Moon's" Elizabeth Reaser. This is such a touching, lovely story directed by Thomas Bezucha. Once again...enjoy!

Go See: "Did You Hear About The Morgans?"

Tonight I caught a screening of "Did You Hear About The Morgans?", thanks to LA Magazine, starring the hilarious bloke Hugh Grant and the lovely, fashionista Sarah Jessica Parker. People to watch: of course, Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss (who recently just married SNL's actor Fred Armisen) and newcomer Jesse Liebman. It was a cute but typical romantic comedy set in New York and Wyoming. I would say that ol' Quaker Oats man, Wilford Brimley nearly stole the show. Sam Elliott and Mary Steenburgen are great as the supporting couple who assist the Morgans in their witness protection program. And if you blinked, you may have missed 30 Rock's character "Dot Com" as played by Kevin Brown, who still plays a bodyguard type. It's a feel-good formulaic comedy that has some genuinely funny moments. Enjoy!!

2010 Golden Globe Nominees

Congrats to everyone who was nominated today for the 2010 Golden Globes! It was a little surprising but all well-deserving for all the talent. I'm rooting for Sandra Bullock!!! And now I have a ton of movies to catch up on. On my must-see list - the epic multi-bazillion dollar film, Avatar, directed by none-other James Cameron. I have a massive crush on the aussie actor, Sam Worthington. (Perhaps you caught him on another huge blockbuster film called "Terminator Salvation".) James Cameron seems to only direct successful films so I don't think he can go wrong although I am definitely intrigued by the animation part of the film.

It also looks like "Up In The Air" is going to give all of the other contenders a run for their money. This film was directed by Jason Reitman, and did you know that his father is Ivan Reitman who directed classics such as "Meatballs", "Ghost Busters" and "Evolution". Guess it runs in the family!

And of course, the slightly controversial Quentin Tarantino's - "Inglourious Basterds". A star-studded cast for sure!!! Good luck to all of the nominees!

Go See: "The Lovely Bones"

Well, I didn't end up seeing "The Blind Side" but that is definitely on the list. I ended up seeing "The Lovely Bones" which I was dying to see anyway. I read the book years ago and couldn't put it down. What an amazing story! I knew that going in, this would be a tear-jerker and it definitely was. Since it was directed by Peter Jackson, I knew the effects were going to be out-of-this-world as Mr. Jackson directed all of the "Lord of the Rings" flicks. It was a spectacular dichotomy between the after-life and the "in-between" world, which resonated the film, "What Dreams May Come", directed by another New Zealander, Vincent Ward.

I predit another Oscar-nod for Saoirse Ronan and quite honestly, Susan Sarandon nearly stole the show. Be on the look-out for New Zealander Rose McIver (remember her from that new zealand flick, "The Piano"?) and the british cutie, Reece Ritchie who will be in the upcoming film, "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time". Enjoy!

Gifts on Christmas Day

Well, the gifts I'm speaking of actually are the movies that are releasing on Christmas Day. Let me just start by saying I am a gay man. I love showtunes. I love musicals. I love Broadway. There I said it. Admitting your problem is the first step however this is SO not a problem because on Christmas Day, the much-anticipated Rob Marshall film (if you having a brain fart, Rob directed "Chicago" and many others), "Nine". There are so many divas in this film, I mean, who would not be excited about this. From Nicole Kidman to Fergie, Kate Hudson, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Judi Dench, and drum roll, please....Sophie Loren. And, let's not forget the star diva, the award-winning and extremely talented (I feel like I'm presenting him for an award), Daniel Day-Lewis. Whew!

So, without further ado, here's your little tease...!

Holiday Films

I love the holidays and I love films. And what better marriage is the festive and fun - holiday film. One of my top 5 (and it's an ever-changing list) is the film "Love Actually". An amazing cast and more subplots than a Seinfeld episode, you will fall in love all over again with this film. Check it out, the trailer, that is:

For the remaining four seasonal, holiday flicks that I heart, I would say they are the following: "Home Alone", "A Christmas Story, "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation", and "Elf".

Now tell me, what are your fave holiday flicks?

Happy Holidays!

Wow, where has the time gone? I am so sorry for being neglectful but...I am back! The holiday season is upon us and I can't express my excitement over all of the movies that are coming out. I especially love the trailers! One in particular, which makes me feel as mushy as that old Hallmark card commercial, is a film that I'm actually going to see this weekend called "The Blind Side". It stars Sandra Bullock and newcomer Quinton Aaron. I'm so excited to see Sandra Bullock in what I hear is an Oscar-nom worthy role. Enjoy!
